At 1215 you fix your position 105°T, 2.3 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 234°T at 8.5 kn until 1225, then 109°T at 5.9 kn until 1300.

Give the 1300 DR position as the true bearing FROM Heron Point Light to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
