At 1310 you fix your position 296°T, 1.5 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 254°T at 4.1 kn until 1355, then 009°T at 5.9 kn until 1430.

Give the 1430 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
