At 0810 you fix your position 284°T, 1.9 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 314°T at 5.5 kn until 0830, then 347°T at 6.6 kn until 0845.

Give the 0845 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
