At 1015 you fix your position 008°T, 2.1 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 116°T at 6.8 kn until 1055, then 339°T at 5.8 kn until 1115.

Give the 1115 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
