At 1125 you fix your position 055°T, 2.2 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 156°T at 6.2 kn until 1140, then 004°T at 5.2 kn until 1220.

Give the 1220 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
