Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 225007
Two legs from a 1145 fix: where is the 1230 DR?
At 1145 you fix your position 014°T, 1.4 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 226°T at 6.8 kn until 1215, then 291°T at 7.8 kn until 1230.
Give the 1230 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
