At 0835 you fix your position 261°T, 1.6 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 108°T at 7.6 kn until 0910, then 272°T at 7.0 kn until 0920.

Give the 0920 DR position as the true bearing FROM Kittle water tank to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
