At 1420 you fix your position 121°T, 1.1 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 037°T at 4.0 kn until 1500, then 115°T at 4.8 kn until 1515.

Give the 1515 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
