At 1235 you fix your position 205°T, 2.9 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 138°T at 7.3 kn until 1245, then 062°T at 4.4 kn until 1255.

Give the 1255 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
