At 0715 you fix your position 043°T, 4.1 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 281°T at 5.9 kn until 0735, then 083°T at 4.5 kn until 0750.

Give the 0750 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
