At 1255 you fix your position 073°T, 4.6 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 118°T at 4.4 kn until 1305, then 180°T at 7.5 kn until 1315.

Give the 1315 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
