At 1335 you fix your position 102°T, 2.1 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 011°T at 7.6 kn until 1350, then 121°T at 4.0 kn until 1405.

Give the 1405 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
