At 0840 you fix your position 009°T, 1.2 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 166°T at 5.1 kn until 0915, then 259°T at 4.8 kn until 0940.

Give the 0940 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
