At 1100 you fix your position 221°T, 2.3 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 171°T at 8.1 kn until 1110, then 289°T at 7.9 kn until 1140.

Give the 1140 DR position as the true bearing FROM Westfield church spire to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
