At 0750 you fix your position 059°T, 1.7 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 136°T at 6.4 kn until 0825, then 280°T at 9.5 kn until 0840.

Give the 0840 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
