At 1135 you fix your position 253°T, 1.2 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 305°T at 5.3 kn until 1205, then 171°T at 4.9 kn until 1235.

Give the 1235 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
