At 1040 you fix your position 243°T, 2.9 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 023°T at 8.1 kn until 1110, then 107°T at 8.5 kn until 1135.

Give the 1135 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
