At 0910 you fix your position 266°T, 2.6 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 285°T at 6.3 kn until 0955, then 065°T at 6.6 kn until 1020.

Give the 1020 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
