Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 24007
Two legs from a 1225 fix: where is the 1300 DR?
At 1225 you fix your position 255°T, 3.7 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 127°T at 4.1 kn until 1245, then 215°T at 7.5 kn until 1300.
Give the 1300 DR position as the true bearing FROM Heron Point Light to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
