At 1405 you fix your position 071°T, 4.4 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 239°T at 6.1 kn until 1420, then 309°T at 4.5 kn until 1500.

Give the 1500 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
