At 1415 you fix your position 305°T, 4.1 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 269°T at 4.2 kn until 1440, then 104°T at 9.8 kn until 1515.

Give the 1515 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
