At 0945 you fix your position 258°T, 3.2 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 160°T at 4.7 kn until 0955, then 003°T at 9.7 kn until 1005.

Give the 1005 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
