At 0805 you fix your position 323°T, 1.3 nm from Kittle water tank. You steer 284°T at 6.1 kn until 0835, then 032°T at 6.3 kn until 0845.

Give the 0845 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
