At 0725 you fix your position 333°T, 1.5 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 026°T at 4.4 kn until 0745, then 067°T at 4.0 kn until 0830.

Give the 0830 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
