At 1135 you fix your position 035°T, 3.9 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 124°T at 9.3 kn until 1200, then 170°T at 8.4 kn until 1210.

Give the 1210 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
