Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 247004
Two legs from a 1210 fix: where is the 1300 DR?
At 1210 you fix your position 290°T, 2.7 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 155°T at 9.8 kn until 1235, then 232°T at 7.9 kn until 1300.
Give the 1300 DR position as the true bearing FROM Heron Point Light to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
