Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 249007
Two legs from a 1155 fix: where is the 1225 DR?
At 1155 you fix your position 265°T, 2.5 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 230°T at 6.7 kn until 1210, then 121°T at 6.5 kn until 1225.
Give the 1225 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
