At 0840 you fix your position 188°T, 1.8 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 310°T at 5.4 kn until 0910, then 255°T at 7.6 kn until 0925.

Give the 0925 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
