At 1450 you fix your position 260°T, 3.7 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 065°T at 4.0 kn until 1525, then 236°T at 4.7 kn until 1545.

Give the 1545 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
