At 1515 you fix your position 298°T, 2.3 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 287°T at 4.2 kn until 1600, then 175°T at 8.2 kn until 1620.

Give the 1620 DR position as the true bearing FROM Westfield church spire to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
