At 1320 you fix your position 025°T, 2.8 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 304°T at 4.7 kn until 1405, then 231°T at 6.5 kn until 1450.

Give the 1450 DR position as the true bearing FROM Westfield church spire to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
