At 0915 you fix your position 280°T, 3.3 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 079°T at 8.2 kn until 0945, then 284°T at 5.7 kn until 1025.

Give the 1025 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
