Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 254008
Two legs from a 1005 fix: where is the 1050 DR?
At 1005 you fix your position 133°T, 3.0 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 047°T at 7.5 kn until 1035, then 186°T at 6.2 kn until 1050.
Give the 1050 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
