At 0815 you fix your position 257°T, 1.8 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 158°T at 5.2 kn until 0900, then 246°T at 5.9 kn until 0915.

Give the 0915 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
