At 0820 you fix your position 122°T, 1.6 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 052°T at 5.8 kn until 0845, then 131°T at 6.5 kn until 0920.

Give the 0920 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
