At 0915 you fix your position 078°T, 2.5 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 052°T at 4.2 kn until 0930, then 180°T at 8.9 kn until 0945.

Give the 0945 DR position as the true bearing FROM Kittle water tank to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
