At 0740 you fix your position 194°T, 2.0 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 359°T at 4.4 kn until 0805, then 184°T at 4.1 kn until 0840.

Give the 0840 DR position as the true bearing FROM Kittle water tank to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
