At 1120 you fix your position 084°T, 2.5 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 065°T at 7.8 kn until 1155, then 213°T at 4.2 kn until 1205.

Give the 1205 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
