At 1555 you fix your position 066°T, 2.6 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 233°T at 9.6 kn until 1635, then 019°T at 7.1 kn until 1645.

Give the 1645 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
