At 0920 you fix your position 292°T, 1.0 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 146°T at 8.7 kn until 0940, then 260°T at 9.7 kn until 0950.

Give the 0950 DR position as the true bearing FROM Kittle water tank to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
