At 1205 you fix your position 066°T, 5.2 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 254°T at 6.3 kn until 1235, then 170°T at 6.2 kn until 1255.

Give the 1255 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
