At 1225 you fix your position 005°T, 1.0 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 252°T at 4.9 kn until 1305, then 088°T at 4.1 kn until 1330.

Give the 1330 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
