At 1420 you fix your position 251°T, 2.4 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 137°T at 4.6 kn until 1450, then 057°T at 5.6 kn until 1515.

Give the 1515 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
