At 1145 you fix your position 149°T, 2.4 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 293°T at 6.0 kn until 1210, then 092°T at 4.6 kn until 1235.

Give the 1235 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
