At 0750 you fix your position 067°T, 1.7 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 339°T at 7.2 kn until 0815, then 160°T at 6.2 kn until 0850.

Give the 0850 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
