At 0940 you fix your position 021°T, 1.9 nm from Kittle water tank. You steer 312°T at 6.9 kn until 1010, then 074°T at 8.9 kn until 1030.

Give the 1030 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
