At 1140 you fix your position 093°T, 2.0 nm from Heron Point Light. You steer 348°T at 8.6 kn until 1200, then 090°T at 8.9 kn until 1245.

Give the 1245 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
