Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 282005
Two legs from a 1325 fix: where is the 1350 DR?
At 1325 you fix your position 116°T, 1.2 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 336°T at 4.0 kn until 1340, then 090°T at 9.2 kn until 1350.
Give the 1350 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
