At 1105 you fix your position 210°T, 3.0 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 154°T at 4.1 kn until 1145, then 031°T at 4.4 kn until 1230.

Give the 1230 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
