Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 283007
Two legs from a 1250 fix: where is the 1330 DR?
At 1250 you fix your position 212°T, 2.4 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 332°T at 4.3 kn until 1315, then 245°T at 9.4 kn until 1330.
Give the 1330 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
